Announcements

October is here and cold weather and snow is just around the corner!

In honor of Fire Prevention Month, we want to raise awareness about fire safety and remind our residents to check their smoke detectors and be prepared in the event of an emergency. Now is the time to make sure you and your house are ready! Please follow these simple steps to keeping your home warm and safe.

FURNACE:  Believe it or not, it is time to test your furnace

When the first cold night comes, EVERYONE will want a serviceman to repair THEIR furnace first.  These poor guys cannot take care of everyone on the same day.  You can help your family by taking a few minutes to prepare for cooler weather.

Take a moment now and test your furnace:

Turn the thermostat switch to HEAT or AUTO, and dial the temperature up to 80 degrees.  You should hear a “fwoomp” sound as the burners ignite and preheat the furnace.  In 30 seconds to a minute, the blower should start blowing the warm air through the vents.  It will probably smell dusty or musty until it runs for a few minutes.

When you are satisfied with the heat, dial the thermostat down to 55 degrees.  The blower should run for a few minutes to cool down the furnace and then shut off automatically.

CHANGE YOUR FILTER!  A new $1 filter can save $100 on your gas bill!

Filters get dirty (that’s their job!) and block the air flow. Reduced air flow means higher gas bills. Just change them every few weeks during the heating season.  We will supply replacement filters at no charge.  Just fill out an online Service Request stating the size needed.

BASEBOARD HEAT:  Check these too!  Vacuum off any dust and turn them on.  They might smell for a few minutes the first time.

BUGS and MICE and SPIDERS will be looking for a warm place to stay on the first cool night.  They have been living outside all summer and want to get warm just like you!  Your house is the warmest place around!  Put out Combat Gel for bugs and D-Con for mice.

Smoke detector: Test the batteries-Save your life.

REFERRAL BONUS:  Remember, receive a $50 rent credit for helping a friend rent or buy a house through us!  (Christmas is coming!!)   Updated lists and applications on the website, www.GraysonProp.com.
